I will be going to Lake Tahoe for one day (9 a.m.-5 p.m.). What areas are good to see?

I'm not really looking to ski or snowboard. Mainly just drive around, check out the scenary. I heard there's a lift that takes you up and get a beautiful view of Lake Tahoe. I also plan to do a stop in Reno. That's the kind of trip I will do.
