Hanging Cabinets?

I'm gonna be hanging kitchen cabinets this week for the first time and I was just hoping for some advice on the best screws to use for the job. I was planning on using self drilling 3 1/2 inch drywall screws with a finish washer for going into the studs. The one I'm more confused on is for going between between cabinets and filler strips. Some people have said 2 1/2 inch drywall screws are good but then i started reading about sheet metal screws for that. Also for either type of screw what number countersink bit would I use. Thanks for any answers.
