Strep throat without a sore throat?

i have a white spot on the back of my throat but i don't have a sore throat. i have a mild headache and more sinus drainage than normal but i'm afraid that the spot is a sign of what could possibly be coming. without a fever & sore throat is the white spot a sign that i could have strep but not yet at its worst?
