My laptop freezes when it's connected to the internet...help?

I have a lenovo t61 laptop and it seems to freeze when i'm connected to the internet. I've turned down the hardware accel and I've uninstalled one of my formerly three browsers. I'm able to get on and surf the web from anywhere between 15-60 minutes at a time. Oddly enough, in safe mode, I have no troubles. Suggestions?
